The Summer House

In James Patterson’s gripping thriller, a small-town sheriff is deeply shaken when a grisly mass murder unfolds in what was once a luxurious southern getaway known as the Summer House. From its days as a rustic lake retreat to its current state as a dilapidated crash pad, the once-charming locale becomes the haunting backdrop for a disturbing crime scene involving seven victims. Eyewitnesses point fingers at four Army Rangers, dubbed the Night Ninjas, recently returned from Afghanistan.

In response, the Army dispatches Major Jeremiah Cook, a seasoned veteran and former NYPD cop, to conduct a thorough investigation. However, upon arriving in the sweltering heat of Georgia, Cook and his elite team encounter unexpected resistance from local law enforcement, who vehemently oppose the Army’s involvement and obstruct their every move.

As Cook and his squad strive to unravel the truth behind the incriminating evidence, they find that the pieces don’t quite align. Moreover, formidable forces are working to ensure that damning secrets perish alongside the victims in the Summer House. With his own team at risk, Cook takes a daring gamble to unearth answers, even if it means confronting the harrowing nightmares of his past.
